The Coast Guard began my carpentry training by sending me to a 13 week course that encompassed rough framing, rough wiring, hanging and finishing drywall, cutting and hanging all molding, laying wood and ceramic floors, setting roof rafters and truss, hanging windows and doors, hanging kitchen cabinets and counter tops. During my 12 years in the Coast Guard I spent 3 years maintaining facility buildings that entailed replacing and running new plumbing lines and valves from ½â€-6†diameter, building an independent building for a racquetball court, remodeling many office spaces by replacing drywall and suspended ceilings. I have bee n put in charge of as many as 12 workers who were involved in maintaining 600+ housing units that entailed basic work orders for housing related items as well as complete remodeling of certain outdated units. These units were taken down to minimum structural members and reframed and finished in preparation for new tenants to move in. also was involved in turning an abandoned warehouse/building into a 6 lane bowling alley and bar. This operation involved steel construction, leveling of lanes and major plumbing for the bar area.

During the total of 9 years of land based units I had become very familiar and confident in my abilities to survey, level, read blueprints for footings-dimensions-depth and strength of pad, pouring and finishing.
Welder

I have been through 3 welding schools while in the military. They are:
Tig aluminum-steel, Mig aluminum-steel, and Stick. All courses were passed only after x-ray testing was completed. I am also proficient at plasma cutting and ozy-acetaline welding/brazing. I also have gone through basic blueprint reading courses.
Respiratory Protection Tech

I assisted in running and maintaining the respiratory protection programs for a hazardous waste response team (qualified to respond to level A) at one of the bases I was stationed. I have gone through courses allowing me to work on level 3 regulators and systems.

Although in need of my 8 hour refresher course I have attended the OSHA 40 course. I have worked and ran hazardous waste cleanup sites ranging from #2 oil spills to level A mercury and chlorine cleanups.
Heavy Equipment Operator

Over the years I spent in the military I have worked with and become proficient at driving loaders, back hoes, bull dozers, bobcats, cherry pickers, fork lifts ranging from 6k to 30k, and light duty cranes. Current forklift Certification.

At 4 of the 6 units was stationed I have had extensive stick time on many different forms of heavy equipment. These range from clearing, leveling, and spreading grade stone for a 300 car parking lot (with a back-hoe, bull dozer, and loader operation), digging leveling and spreading grade rock for a 60’x80’ pavilion (with a bob cat, back hoe), spending 2.5 years running
a 4cu’yd loader loading salt trucks throughout the cape cod winter along with running back hoes for clearing snow from parking lots and housing units.
Rigging

Performed Load Master duties for preparing, lifting and tying down loads for C130 Military Aircraft Transport.
Performed Load Master duties for loading, tying down and off loading HAZMAT equipment from semi-trailers and railcars.
Assisted in the construction of 20,000 sq.ft. Hanger to house all HAZMAT response equipment.
Have working knowledge of sling hoist and load transfer using chain falls.
Performed many duties involved in turbine generator replacement and assorted equipment lifts throughout the turbine deck, including but not limited to multi-crane lifts, lifts of up to 210 tons, limited clearence muti directional flaging operations.
Two outages with a total of 190 days as head rigger at Comanche peak power station.
qualified through Siemans fossil as remote overhead crane operator and articulating fork lift.
Truck Driver

I was sent through truck driving school (truck spec inc.) and have driven trailers as long as 48' hauling hazardous response equipment from Maine to Houston, as the situation demanded. I have a current Class A CDL PA license.

Gas fire turbines
Millwright (a mech) for siemans fossil services. Spent time in siemans Houston shop dismantling and reassembling f type turbines. Duties included, but not limited to reassembly of intake and combustion fins, centering rotor using precision measuring devices, and prepping & resetting caps.
Pipe Fitting
I have extencive knowledge of blueprint reading and inturpreting, use of many hand tools including, but not limited to, grinders, end grinders, counter boring machinary, alignment tools, air and electric end prep machines from 3" to 36". many other abilities that can be disused directly relating to job opening.
